Perched atop a steeply sloping bluff with a breathtaking ocean view, this project was a complete custom landscape design & installation. Emphasis was placed on clean modern lines, low overall maintenance and ensuring privacy while at the same time providing a unique and beautiful aesthetic.

The client wanted an iron gate that rolled unobtrusively into a fence to secure the entrance to the property. Groundforce recommended an alternative feature entryway – custom basalt columns to be grooved onsite to allow a contemporary cedar fence to slip in. The client abandoned the idea of a mechanical gate for this unique portal.

A textured paver was recommended and installed on the steeply sloping driveway, and jointed with polymeric sand for weed control and ant-free joints. Ornamental gravel pathways were integrated with timber stair treads and segmented block retaining walls.

Three sundecks were surfaced with hydro-pressed paving stone slabs laid on rubber pads, and stair treads of the same material were laid into a custom built aluminum framework.
